Mohd Zulfahmi aims for eight more points

30 July 2010

SEPANG: After completing the first half of the 125cc world motorcycling championship with two points, AirAsia-Sepang International Circuit rider Mohd Zulfahmi Khairuddin is now aiming for another eight points before the end of his debut season.

Zulfahmi bagged his first point in Catalunya (Spain) before adding another in Sachsenring (Germany). He finished 15th in both races.

Zulfahmi said it was a dream to collect the two points.

The plan: AirAsia CEO Datuk Seri Tony Fernandes talking about how the airline intends to continue supporting Mohd Zulfahmi (second from right) as Sepang International Circuit CEO Razlan Razali looks on at the go kart circuit in Sepang Thursday.

“I’m still learning the ins and outs of the championship. As such, I’m happy to collect the two points so far,” said Zulfahmi, who is taking a break in Banting as the 125cc race was not contested in the recent leg in the United States.

“There is still a long way to go in the championship. We have nine more races to go and my aim is to keep on improving. My target is to collect another eight points to make it 10. It’s going to be tough but I’m going to work hard for it,” added Zulfahmi.

Zulfahmi’s next race is the Czech Grand Prix in Brno from Aug 13-15.
